If you are new to Ottawa Area Center, then welcome. Here is what is needed to get started with registration for your new student.
First step is to gather your information. The following information and forms will be needed.
Student Demographic Information - birth certificate will be required either electronically uploaded to the registration system or brought into the office.
Student Contact Information - parent(s)/guardian(s) contact information and at least one emergency contact person.
Primary Household Verification - must provide address verification from an ID, utility bill, rental agreement or purchase agreement. An electronic copy can be uploaded or brought into the office.
Resident District - the public school district your primary address resides in. If you do not know, you may look up this information on our Resident District Lookup application or find it on your county's property search.
Emancipated Minor or Age of Majority - if your student meets this criteria, please fill out the please fill out the Contact Consent Form and you may have guardian documentation. These can be uploaded to the system or brought into the office.
Health Information - there are a number of health-related questions. Gather your health information. You will need an official copy of your student's immunization record which can be obtained through the Michigan Department of Health Immunization Records. If your student takes medications, please fill out the Medication Form. Both documents can be uploaded to the system or brought into the office.
Only one parent/guardian needs to complete the registration process.
If your student is already a current student at Ottawa Area Center, then see the section on the Annual Update for Current Students below.
Second Step is to proceed to the registration system. Please make note of your application number as you begin the process. Please choose the link for the year you are registering your student for.
If you get an error when clicking any of the links, please clear your browser history and try again.
For families that have students currently enrolled at Ottawa Area Center, there is an annual update process to verify the information for your student(s). In order to use the system, you must have a Parent Portal account. If you do not have a Parent Portal account, then please contact the office under Assistance on this page.
Once you login to the Parent Portal, click on one of two areas to start the update process. You can click the Online Registration button under Shortcuts or click on More > Online Registration > Existing Student Registration>Start button.
These are forms for Ottawa Area Center that can be downloaded and filled out and then sent back to the school.
Contact Consent Form - this is to be used if the student is an Emancipated Minor or Age of Majority and the parent/guardians have documentation to still receive information on the student.
Medication Form - this is for medications to be given in the school.
